5 Marathi Movies Releasing Today

Total 5 marathi movies are releasing today on 13 April 2012. Raja Shivchhatrapati, Babu Band Baja, Kashala udyachi Baat, Uchala Re Uchala and Hi Command. Its but obvious that they will compete with each other along with other bollywood movies.


After producing a mega TV serial 'Raja Shivchhatrapati' for Star Pravah, popular art director Nitin Chandrakant Desai is converting this 304 hours mega TV serial into 70 MM full length feature film. This is the first kind of experiment in Marathi entertainment industry.

Award winning film 'Babu Band Bajaa' which is tale of a son of a Band artiste is also releasing today. It's a tug-of-war between fate and hope. The film has already won 33 awards in different categories, including 3 national awards last year. Mitalee Jagtap, who plays the mother of the boy, having won the best actress national award for her performance in this film. 'Babu Band Bajaa' is a sensible film from director Rajesh Pinjani and is sure to invite the attention of many people.

Anupam Kher makes his debut in Marathi films with director Pramod Joshi’s 'Kashala Udyachi Baat' (Marathi). The film is bilingual and has also been made in Hindi titled 'Chhodo Kal Ki Batein' (Hindi). Kher essays the role of a blind man in the film that shows the journey of an IT professional from his workaholic stage where he always craves for more money, to a stage where he is happily satisfied. During this journey he comes across a charismatic blind man who makes him understand the importance of living life wholeheartedly. The film is a feel good cinema suiting all ages.

After much delay, 'Uchala Re Uchala' finally releasing on 13th April. Without any conventional 'hero', this film has many 'fu bai fu' faces. 

'High command' will focus on the Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute, and how the play of politics takes precedence over development issues. Directed by Yashwant Bhalkar, High Command features actors Sharad Ponkshe, Sunil Barve, Rahul Solapurkar, Ashwini Ekbote, Priyanka Yadav and Swapnil Rajshekhar. While the story has been written by Manish Ram Kulkarni, the dialogues have been penned by Pradip Patil.
