2013 came with its share of controversies in the Marathi film industry.

Who has the rights for 'Uchalya'?
Filmmaker Samit Kakkad released the first look of his upcoming film 'Uchalya' based on author Lakshman Gaikwad's novel by the same name. Samit had acquired the rights a while ago. Soon after the announcement, filmmaker Anant Mahadevan too claimed rights over the book for making a film. The issue was taken to Akhil Bhartiya Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal and the decision went in Samit's favour. The author however filed a case against Samit. The matter still seems to be in legal issues.

Off the set drama during 'Mangalashtak Once More'
The news about South actress turned producer Renu Desai sacking the executive producer, cinematographer, assistant director and a some other unit members of Swwapnil Joshi and Mukta Barve starrer 'Mangalashtak Once More' for the lack professionalism made it to the headlines. Later big names like Sanjay Jadhav and Sanjay Dawra stepped in to complete the project.

'Pyaar Hua Inkar Hua' for Minal Ghorpade
Actress Minal Ghorpade was in a relationship with filmmaker Prasad Tarkar and was to be a part of two of his upcoming projects - 'Janmantar' and 'Maya'. The relationship hit a rough patch and the couple broke up. Post the break-up Minal was dropped from both the projects.

Money matters for Pushkar Jog
Pushkar Jog alleged that Mahesh has not paid him around Rs 3 lakh which is due to him for the last five years and has 'cheated his father'. Pushkar even approached Akhil Bhartiya Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal. The verdict is not yet known.

Smita Gondkar's not-so-happy marriage
Actress Smita Gondkar who will be next seen in Milind Kavde's film 'Gammat' filed a case of cheating against her husband Siddharth Banthiya. Apparently a woman called her and claimed to be Siddharth's first wife. The actress was in shock but decided to lodge a complaint.
