A talented artist is on the verge of cracking the deal of his lifetime as an international firm shows interest in purchasing his paintings. But everything gets topsy turvy when he loses his cell phone.

Starting off on the premise of people's daily use and dependency on cellphones, the film takes a look at the problems anyone can face due to the loss of a mobile phone. In this case, the events unfold through the eyes of a protagonist.

Nandan Dikshit ( Adinath Kothare) is a brilliant painter who hopes to achieve success by making money out of selling his paintings. Not someone made for a 9-5 work schedule, he unwillingly takes up a job for the sake of his girlfriend Kia (Isha Keskar, who has gifted him the phone in conversation). Unfortunately for Nandan, Kia's father marries her off to another person and in between all this, Nandan's phone gets stolen just after he gets a very important call. The following story unfolds with a lot of twists and turns and how the least expected person is actually the real culprit.

The plot of the film goes back and forth a lot of times for background clarification and although essential, it gets a bit confusing after a point. The first half lacks pace but the second half of the film is edgy and fast and reveals the true faces of a social worker and a police officer, who are important characters in the film. Witty dialogues add fun to the otherwise serious story and the peppy songs, although misplaced in the film, help creating tension when required.

The film is all about Adinath's character and he performs very well. He is at ease in front of the camera and expresses the frustration, confusion and helplessness of Nandan with effortless ease. Mrunal Thakur as Nandan's other love interest Ruby, is not very convincing and needs to work on her Marathi diction. Veterans Anant Jog and Neena Kulkarni do well in their roles of a police officer and a social worker respectively.

'Hello Nandan' is twisted and thrilling for its subject that everyone can identify with due to the cellphone factor and can be enjoyed by those looking for a light thriller without putting much pressure on their brains.
